The next few sections will teach you how to use an existing wallpaper from your photo rolls, make your own with the built in camera or make one on your desktop and sync it to your iPhone.
Select a Different Wallpaper
1. Tap the Settings app
2. Tap Wallpaper
3. You’ll find a list of the different images saved to your iPhone. At the top, marked Wallpaper, is a set of pre-installed images. The pre-installed library is particularly useful when you haven’t taken or synced photos to your device yet. If you have, your collection will appear below the Wallpaper library.
4. Tap a picture you like
5. Tap Set Wallpaper if it suits your fancy

Whatever you select as a wallpaper will appear on your iPhone screen once you’ve woken it up from sleep.
Choose a Photo for Your Wallpaper
Are those pre-loaded wallpapers still too dull for you? Choose a photo you captured with your iPhone’s built-in camera instead.
1. Tap the Photos app
2. Tap Camera Roll
3. Tap a photo of your choice
4. Tap the square with the arrow jumping out of it in the lower left side of the screen
5. Tap the Use As Wallpaper menu option
6. Use your thumb and index finger to pinch or stretch the image to fit appropriately
7. Tap Set Wallpaper

Snapping your wallpaper photo on the spot is just as simple.
1. Tap the Camera app
2. Take your photo by tapping on the camera icon
3. Tap the overlapping squares icon in the lower left side of the screen. If you don’t see the option, tap the screen for the menu options to appear.
4. Tap on the photo you just took (or whatever photo you like)
5. Tap the square with the arrow jumping out of it in the lower left side of the screen
6. Tap the ‘Use As Wallpaper‘ menu option

Photoshop Your Own Wallpaper
Want to add some details to your wallpaper, like your name and address in case you lose your iPhone? TheNextWeb.org has some templates you can easily edit with Adobe Photoshop.
1. On your computer, download the ZIP file containing the templates; unzip the file
2. Load StartScreenTemplate.psd with Adobe Photoshop
3. Use the Text tool in Photoshop to edit the textual items (e.g. name, phone number)
4. Double click on one of the Backgrounds folders in the Layers panel
5. Click on the box next to the image of your choice. The image of an eyeball should appear

6. In the Layers panel, click on the eyeball in the red box next to iPhone Screen Items to hide it
7. Go to File > Save As and select JPEG as format. Name the file and click Save
8. Drag your JPEG wallpaper into iPhoto
9. Add your JPEG to a photo album (named “iPhone Photos,” for example)
10. In iTunes, choose your iPhone, and then click the Photos tab
11. Checkmark the photo album containing your custom-made wallpaper (e.g. “iPhone photos”)
12. Click Apply and let your iPhone sync
13. On your iPhone, tap the Settings app
14. Tap Wallpaper
15. Tap Photo Library
16. Tap your custom-made wallpaper
17. Tap Set Wallpaper
Use Your iPhone springboard as Wallpaper
Do you like a particular page of your springboard with all its application’s icons? Well you can use it as Wallpaper.
1. Choose the springboard page which shows the application’s icons you like
2. Press contemporaneously the home button and the sleep/wake buttons together. The screen will flash and the camera sound will play. Such snaps are automatically saved to your camera roll. This mode to capture snapshots will work no only with the springboard visualized, but always whenever you want to take a snapshots of your iPhone screen.
3. On your iPhone, tap the Settings app
4. Tap Wallpaper
5. Tap Camera Roll
6. Tap your custom-made wallpaper
7. Tap Set Wallpaper
